Cara Anderson

Director of Sales – Canada

My passion for the environment can be traced back to my pre-professional days. When Edmonton first began their waste diversion program, I WAS IN! I made everyone in my family commit to putting each piece of garbage into a food scraps, recycle or landfill bin. As a by-product – then it was up to ME to take all bins to the curb each week! As I have moved through my career, I have always looked for the environmental aspect of every position I have held.  While most recently working with two distribution companies, I consciously made myself an expert in compostable packaging for the food service industry and the most environmentally friendly products for the cleaning & hygiene industry. Working for EcoSafe Zero Waste Inc. was a natural transition for me. Helping businesses create programs to divert their food scraps and organic materials in ways that are both process practical and economical. Outside the office, I am committed to “talking to people that I don’t know”, petting every dog that I encounter, sampling new Rosés and challenging myself to do all the poses that I don’t like in yoga.

Food loss and waste occur at each stage of the supply chain. The biggest proportion (about 37%) happens in the home.
