In 2014, we partnered with San Francisco’s Environment department to pilot the EcoSafe MultiRes program in four high-rise buildings, giving residents free compostable bags from in-building dispensers, plus clear signage. Participation jumped from under 50% to over 80%, contamination dropped below 1% in three buildings, and 89% of residents said they were satisfied.
